This touching comedy explores the relationship between two upper-class, middle-aged women from Connecticut as they travel through the vast and often challenging country of India. The great Indian god Ganesha shepherds them on their journey as they are confronted with the sometimes joyful and sometimes painful awareness of life as it is and not as it should be. One of the women cannot escape the horrifying memory of the murder of her son, a victim of gay-bashing. She suffers guilt for rejecting her son for his lifestyle. She struggles with her abandonment of him in times of need.
